bikosigma was founded in 2020 with a single purpose: the professional running of biomethane portfolios for third parties. No portfolio of our own, no corporate parent with its own agenda.

The biomethane market is one of the most heavily regulated energy markets anywhere. Injection and withdrawal, balancing groups, register obligations, mass balances, certification schemes, greenhouse gas balances, emissions reports — every stage has its own deadlines, systems and data formats. For most market participants this is not a core competence but a burden.
That is exactly where we come in. With our services and digital solutions we cover the entire value chain — from grid injection to end use, regardless of market segment.
Why we hold no portfolio of our own.
That is a decision, not an omission. Anyone who trades on their own account while also running third-party portfolios inevitably sits on both sides of the table. They see their clients’ volumes, prices, contract terms and bottlenecks — and hold a book that could benefit from it. We do not hold that book. We are paid for our work, not for our position. A conflict of interest is not unlikely with us; it is structurally impossible.
Why integrity is an argument in this market.
Clients entrust us with their biomethane portfolio — a substantial asset and the foundation of their business. We earn that trust through reliability, transparency and economic independence. Feel free to ask us for references.
What we mean by "we think along".
Our service contract describes what has to be done. It does not describe what becomes visible when you work inside a portfolio’s data every day. When a deadline situation tips, a chain of custody becomes thin or a legislative change affects your segment, we flag it — even when it is not in the scope of work.

Why bikosigma exists.
The biomethane market needs a capable, independent operator and digitaliser – an enabler.
Complexity and bureaucracy are so pronounced in this market that they hold back the development of the market. In the biomethane market, two worlds meet. On one side is the already heavily regulated world of the energy and gas industry. Moving the molecules alone requires specialised systems, processes and capabilities in the “classic” energy business. On top of that comes the world of qualities, which is extremely diverse because biomethane can be used in so many ways. Both spheres have to be handled reliably and then brought together in the best possible way. We enjoy doing it, we are good at it, and it is what we work for every day.
With our end-to-end range of services, we enable large and small biomethane players alike to take part in the European gas market, by providing our extensive infrastructure and know-how in the European gas grid, at gas storage facilities and LNG terminals, as well as our exchange access. The market needs to become more decentralised. We make that possible.
I have worked in and on the biomethane market since 2011. Together with my team, I work for your successful biomethane portfolio, and to ensure that even the smallest biomethane player has access to the wider world of the gas industry.
